Long Term Care Resource Workshop – The Blue Ridge Independent Living Center is providing Long-Term Care Resource workshops to increase the awareness of different community supports and services that shift care for an individual from a hospital, rehabilitation center, or nursing home to the person’s home.

Center on Transition Innovations (CTI) – We are pleased to announce the launching of the Center on Transition Innovations (CTI) website! It is the vision of the Virginia Department of Education to create a centralized statewide resource for educators and other stakeholders in the transition of youth with disabilities.

We invite you to explore the website to learn about the many opportunities available to you that can immediately impact your transition planning efforts. Online Colleges Database – a website and organization focused on providing post-secondary information for students and learners across the world.  Our organization recently published a new resource that supports the families and students with disabilities: “OnlineCollegesDatabase.org: Online Learning for Students with Disabilities.”  We were fortunate to have experts in the field contribute to this resource.

BRILC Coed Group – BRILC’s Coed Group is for adults of all ages with disabilities.  We meet at 1 p.m. on the 4th Wednesday of every month and do different activities such as planning and socializing, going to the movies and eating out at restaurants.  We are always open to new ideas and welcome new members with their own input. Please contact the center if you’re interested or have any questions.
